The Course is Recognized By Indian Nursing Council, Govt. of india, New Delhi and Affiliated To : U.P. State Medical Faculty. Govt. of U.P. Lucknow.

The primary objective of diploma course in refraction & optometry is to develop trained manpower equipped with enough knowledge for utilization of these professional in government sector & private hospital & also with private eye surgean. Thus the traned optometrist can be of great help of our national program for control of blindness & visual imparirment.

Titel of Course :- D.R.opt (Diploma in Refration & Optometry)

Duration :- Two Year

No. of Seats :- 30 (thirty)

Age :- Must attain 17 year on 31 Dec.

The D.R. opt course consist of 1st & 2nd year each divided in to two semesters of six months. The student have to appear in the final exam at the end at the 1st & 2nd year . the examination will be held under U.P. state Medical faculty. After successfully passing the exams they will be awarded D.R. opt by U.P. State Medical faculty.

All candiatdete must have to clear the theory & practical paper separately by minimum of 50% marks. More datails about the course content is given the back page of the prospectus.

The Examination will be conducted as follows

1. General and ocular Anatomy & Physiology

2. Physical & Physiological Optics.

1. Disease of Eye , Pharmacology Pathology Microbiology & Diagnostic Instruments

2. Mechanical optics, Public health and community ophthalmology.

1. Every candidates has to pass separetely in Theory and Practicals.

2. Candidates who obtains more then 75% marks will be considered as having passed with honours.

regular examinations will be held' in May/ June

Supplementary examinations will be held in November / December each year The dates will be announced by the Faculty and may be changed if required.

1. The results will be annouced by the Faculty.

2. No Student will be promoted to IInd year class unless he / she clears the Ist year Examination.

3. The appointment of examiners is done by the Faculty.

As per U.P. State medical faculity council Lucknow Rules.

Prescribed application form for appearing in the final examination each year is to be held by the U. P. state medical faculty shall be submitted at least one month prior to the date of commencement along with the prescribed examination fee through the head of the institute.

The U.P. State medical faculity shall award the diploma to the successful candidate after passing the examination conducted by the above faculty.

The candidates after complection of the course shall be registered with the U.P.state medical faculty .The courses recognized by the councils shall be registered with their respective council.
